Q: Due to short time in summer fast (20 hours of fast) if one has sexual activity with wife without entering her but is discharged, what is the status of the fast and what penalty applies?
A: If while fasting one is intimate with one’s wife without penetration and semen is discharged then qadhaa (one day) has to be made only. Kaffaarah (penalty) is not necessary.
